Between Lake Lucerne and the Swiss Alps

An expedition in Switzerland based in Vitznau: Zürich, Weggis, Altdorf and Andermatt by road, and the return boat journey between Vitznau and Lucerne on Lake Lucerne.

Access to the expedition is by air: a flight from London to Zürich. From there, the journey continues by car towards Lake Lucerne, via Weggis to Vitznau, the base for the entire expedition.

From that base, the route climbs by road towards Altdorf and Andermatt, in the heart of the Alpine passes, before returning to Vitznau. The lake stage is travelled by boat: Vitznau–Lucerne–Vitznau, a return journey on Lake Lucerne. The Swiss leg ends with Vitznau–Zürich, followed by the flight from Zürich to Buenos Aires.
